Edgemere is deeply involved in ministries and organizations throughout Wichita Falls and the surrounding region. Some are ministries we directly support and help lead. Others are community partners whose work we strengthen through volunteers, financial support, and ongoing relationships.
FEATURED MINISTRY
CHRIST PRISON MINISTRY
Christ Prison Ministry is one of Edgemere’s most significant local ministries, serving men at the James V. Allred Unit and supporting the work of sharing the hope of Jesus within the prison community.
MINISTRIES WITH DEEP EDGEMERE ROOTS
The Sonshine House is a ministry of local Churches of Christ, that has been serving Wichita Falls and the surrounding communities since 1995. Our volunteers are all made up of members from local congregations that assist and serve around 800 families and 4,000 individuals with food, clothing, and spiritual needs every year.
The Sonshine House is located at 912 Broad Street and is open every Tuesday from 1:30 – 4:00pm.
In 1963, members of the Edgemere church established Wichita Christian School. This PK-12 private school would continue to grow in the coming years, with a recent enrollment of over 300 students. The preschool campus is still directly across the street from Edgemere, with the main school campus now located on Midwestern Parkway.
COMMUNITY PARTNERS
Edgemere volunteers serve with Academy 4 to mentor and encourage local elementary students at Fain Elementary School.
We support and promote Mustangs For Christ, a local campus ministry serving college students at Midwestern State University.
Edgemere supports Faith Mission and its work serving women and families in our community.
CHILDREN’S HOMES WE SUPPORT
Edgemere also supports children’s homes and residential ministries serving children and families across the region.
