Matthew 6: 24,33
Why does the Bible say so much about money?
Because God’s chief competition for your heart isn’t Satan, it’s money.
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” Matthew 6:24
Concerning money, there is danger on both sides of the road.
Consuming and Hoarding
Consuming means that you use everything that comes in.
Hoarding means that you stockpile everything that comes in.
The root cause of both is selfishness.
Both are fueled by greed.
Greed is the assumption that it’s all for my consumption.
Three words that can become a guardrail to protect you from making money your master:
1. GIVE
2. SAVE
3. LIVE
God’s antidote to greed is generosity.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all of these things will given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33
It’s all about putting God first in your life.
